NOTE FROM FOUNDER
Dear Fellow Travelers:
Settle in… immerse yourself in another culture, a
beautiful place with welcoming people. Make new friends
of many nationalities. Develop new skills, maintain or improve
one, or two, or three!
On our website you can book and plan a variety of trips
to satisfy your multi-faceted interests. Make it a short
vacation or make it long-term study abroad. Dive
in, focus and feel the exhilaration of getting better at something
or learning something new, in a way you've never learned
before.
I'm reflecting on my own unforgettable experiences learning
languages and improving my motorcycling skills with small,
specialized organizations; I reflect on the progress and
sense of satisfaction and gratitude of fellow participants,
on phone conversations when clients return from trips, on
the feeling expressed in the many thank you letters we've
received.
From my impressionable experiences, eduVacations® (ej.ew'va-'ka-shens)
evolved in the mid-nineties to offer an out-of-the-ordinary,
activity-based alternative to a guided organized
tour. I
wanted others to have the type of remarkable experience
I had being immersed in France, learning French, and improving
my skiing too, in a tiny language institute hidden in an
alpine village. And I've succeeded, with the help of competent
enthusiastic staff, and dedicated and talented partners,
including language schools with excellent directors and
support staff, language teachers, artists, chefs, a motorcycle
safety professional, and bicycle and walking tour specialists.
On my first language study trip outside of a homogenous
US-based study abroad program I discovered something more
dynamic, enriching and fun. I met the nicest group
of fellow participants of many ages from many countries, England,
Australia, Germany, Denmark, Brazil, Switzerland, Canada.
We spent hours together in French class, skiing, and chatting
over long, delicious meals. The inevitable cultural exchange
was refreshing and exciting.
From this trip and others that followed (I became hooked),
the eduVacations philosophy emerged… a philosophy
of cultural sensitivity and openness to international living
experiences, and flexibility as a traveler. An eduVacation
is not a stay in predictable, standardized, and Americanized
settings. We work hard to find places where you will have
the opportunity to enjoy local foods, meet people of different
nationalities, and deepen your multi-cultural awareness.
Over the years we've planned hundreds of great eduVacations
for new and repeat clients (see What People are Saying).
Now we've integrated our knowledge, and planning expertise
into a new web site where we feature eduVacations at better
than ever prices, and guide you through the complexities
of booking and planning your own trip.
Take the time to roam our site and dream of the possibilities.
Better yet, book a trip with us and enjoy the benefits
of becoming an "Insider". Not ready just yet, then
join our community and we'll keep you abreast of the new
additions and special offers and resources to help you plan
the best trip ever!
Have a Great Trip! Bon Voyage! Buen Viaje! Buon Viaggio!
