Tuscany is truly the heart of Italy,
studded with panoramic landscapes, ancient walled
villages, olive groves and vineyards stretching rhythmically
to the horizon and capped, of course, by the glorious
cities of Florence and Siena. Aesthetics of your lodging
and wonderful food, special “insider” excursions and
a very personal orientation are a bottom line!
May and October are prime months
for a Tuscan trip – gorgeous weather with all of the
key sights serene and uncrowded. You’ll alternate
workshop days with excursions to Florence and Siena,
as well as to the charming hilltop villages so distinct
to this “Chianti region”...from San Gimignano with
its ancient towers, to Greves with its bustling trade
in wine. In Florence and Siena a terrific art historian
accompanies the group.

| Getting there: |
We suggest that you book
flights through Rome, rather than Milan since
travel to Florence by plane or train is easier
with this routing. Meet on-site at Il Paretaio
near the town of Barberino Val D’Elsa mid-way
between Florence and Siena. Travel from the
airport to hotels is not included in your fee —
however, Horizons will help coordinate arrangements.. |
