With the tradition of excellence
in the field of education and four official languages,
French, German, Italian and Romanche, Switzerland
is the ideal place for language study. Combine French
and English in one trip! And, combine your language
lessons with outdoor sports programs offered year-round.
The village of Leysin, also known
as the “sunny balcony of Switzerland”,
is a famous summer and winter resort within the French-speaking
Canton of Vaud, situated in the mountains above Lake
Geneva.
Study in a truly international atmosphere,
on a “campus” that includes a residence
with comfortable rooms, a college library, language
laboratory, fitness-room, and student cafeteria and
lounge. The campus has been a major study center for
French and English for over 30 years. You’
ll take classes in a beautiful and
historic building overlooking the village of Leysin.
Also in Leysin you can enjoy a wide
range of indoor and outdoor activities: mountain biking
and whitewater rafting in the summer, and downhill
skiing and boarding, and cross-country skiing in the
winter and early spring. In addition, the facilities
offered by Leysin are excellent: an Olympic-sized
swimming pool, two sports centers and numerous lifts
that access the mountain in both summer and winter.
And Leysin is ideally situated for excursions both
within Switzerland and to other European countries.

What People are Saying
“I thought the French classes
at Leysin were excellent! I wouldn’t mind doing
them again. I learned a lot. In 2 weeks I reviewed essentially
5 years of French study that I forgot plus started understanding
spoken French. I was glad I took downhill skiing there.
The instructor spoke excellent English (in addition to
French) and was very patient and helpful. I brought my
ice skates so ended up ice skating as well. The rental
car was convenient and I’m glad I had it. I did
a fair amount of touring on my own. It may not have been
perfect French, but we communicated! Meals there were
excellent and more than ample. Bottom-line, I really liked
it, learned a lot, and enjoyed it, met a number of very
pleasant and personable people. I would do it again.”
