Tenerife is the largest of the Canary
Islands, which are all volcanic. The island rises
up from the coast to form Spain’s highest peak
at 3,718 meters (12,298 feet).
Year-round sunshine and warm temperatures
means that you can participate in outdoor activities
whenever you go! The Canary Islanders are known throughout
Spain for their friendliness, sense of humor and generosity.
And they can throw a good party… the Tenerife
Carnival, in February, is considered the largest Carnival
in Europe and the second largest in the world, after
the Grand Carnival of Rio de Janeiro. Plus, every
village on the island has a fiesta between March and
October. They really help to give you an insight into
the Canary Island character and traditions. The Canary
Island Festival of Music, held in January- February,
is one of the leading international festivals of classical
music, with the participation of orchestras from all
over the world. In addition, Tenerife also offers
unique natural beauty, within its National Parks,
Mountains, Valleys, and seaside settings.
Our partner school is located in
Santa Cruz, the capital of the province of Santa Cruz
de Tenerife, near the main boulevard of Santa Cruz.
Study Spanish next to Parque Garcia Sanabria, and
within walking distance of the city center.
Santa Cruz attracts tourists to visit
its monuments, the magnificent boulevards, shops,
and port. Ninety-nine percent of the people who live
in Santa Cruz are Canary Islanders. This will help
to learn quickly, as you will be surrounded by Spanish
speakers.
