center of Spain. It’s a modern, cosmopolitan
and hospitable city that boasts the most prestigious
museums in the country (El Museo del Prado, El Centro
de Arte Reina Sofía and El Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza)
and the greatest number of theatres and clubs. Many
of Spain’s most important historic monuments
are also found in Madrid, including El Palacio Real.

Madrid is lively during the day and
especially known for its exciting nightlife, often
referred to as “La Movida Madrileña”,
or the Madrid Scene. In addition to more traditional
entertainment, there are many clubs and discotheques
for all tastes from salsa to jazz, as well as pubs,
cafes, casinos, and flamenco dancing. And with its
many restaurants to suit assorted budgets you’ll
find plenty of opportunity to try all sorts of “raciones”,
or portions, of typical Spanish food.
All courses for students with prior
knowledge of Spanish may begin on any Monday (arrive

Cultural & Recreational Activities
Guided visits to major museums (Prado),
historic monuments and places of interest in Madrid; guided
excursions throughout the region; jog in el Parque del
Retiro, mountain bike in the Case de Campo, take advantage
of the city’s many swimming pools, soccer fields,
tennis courts, nearby golf courses; go horseback riding
and skiing in the mountains outside the city.

Several shared apartments are available, each
housing 4 or 6 students. The apartments
are a 15 minute ride from school. They contain
a lounge, kitchen and two full bathrooms.
All facts are equipped with television, washing

These classes in small groups are designed for learning
and improving your Spanish in a short period of
time. Classes cover pronunciation, grammar, usage,
conversation, reading comprehension, textual analysis
and composition. And, of course, there’ll
be homework to reinforce the lessons. You’ll
also have access to a program of activities and
