Seville, the capital of Andalusia,
is said to be the most beautiful city in Spain, and
is home to famous Spanish customs: a vibrant street
life, flamenco music and dancing, bullfighting, and
open and warm people. Impressive architecture, living
history, and lots of sun are also characteristic of
the city. Explore its narrow maze-like streets, tiny
plazas, and old Jewish and Arabic neighborhoods as
you study Spanish in the heart of Seville.
For an extraordinary cultural experience
study during 1 week from Palm Sunday through Easter
Sunday, “Semana Santa,” one of Seville’s
most popular festivals, or during the “Feria
de Abril,” beginning the Sunday after Easter,
one of Spain’s most picturesque and traditional
festivals.
Vejer is a small (8,000 inhabitants),
perfectly conserved, historic town surrounded by beautiful
countryside and situated high on a hill with views
of the surrounding area and the beaches of Conil and
Zahara. It has been granted the status of Area of
Historic and Artistic Interest and has also won the
Most Beautiful Towns of Spain award. History is not
all there is to Vejer, though. The steep, zigzagging
streets, the whitewashed houses and the balconies
filled with flowers also hide internet cafés,
hotels, guest houses, shops, restaurants, galleries
and cafés with terraces.
The school building dates from the
middle of the nineteenth century and is constructed
on top of the ancient Moorish town walls dating back
to the eleventh century. The school has two Andalusian
interior patios, a garden with orange trees, jasmine
and bougainvillea, a terrace facing south across rolling
countryside and an enormous azotea or roof, with views
in all directions, from Medina Sidonia in the north
to Morocco in the south.

Seville Recreational Activities
Flamenco lessons, guided tours of Seville, evenings out
to bars or movies, library access, and guitar lessons.
Some other options are weekend excursions to Cordoba,
Granada, Morocco, Portugal, or to the beach (1 hour away),
cooking classes, bullfights, cycle tours, flamenco shows,
and river cruises.

Spanish classes with special emphasis on the Spanish
culture and customs, and become familiar with and
integrated into the Spanish lifestyle from the first
day. The teachers are engaging and involved in all
aspect of the program for its duration, including
the activities after class. So, you’ll have
a lot of fun time outside of class to work on your
Spanish when you’re not even thinking about
it, while in a cooking class, meeting local Spaniards
your age, in dance classes, on excursions. Improve
your language skills, have fun, make new friends
from many countries, and give your college applications
a competitive edge. In addition to 20 classes per
week (6 – 12 students per class), the program
includes 3 meals/day, and double room accommodation
with select Spanish host families, sports (horseback
riding and tennis optional), and one half day and
one full day excursion per week to Tarifa, Bolonia,
